Action - shooter games
Shooter games are a subgenre of action games, and they usually test the player's reaction time and reflexes. Shooter games encompass other subgenres that all have an onscreen avatar controlling a weapon. Usually, the weapon is a gun, a bow, or other long range item. Most shooter games include ammunition as a frequent in-game resource, and the objective of almost all of them is to eliminate opponents and get through missions without dying. There are a variety of criteria to determine what kind of game a shooter is; here are some of the major subgenres of shooting games. One of the most popular of its time were the star wars games
Perspective games: here, the player usually sees the events from the character's perspective, or from a camera following them (first and third-person shooters, respectively). Some shooters have fixed camera angles, such as gallery shooting games and overhead shooting games.
Real-life games: These are games that emulate the ballistics and potential damage of real weapons. Many shooters involve a certain degree of realism, but some are completely fantastic in nature.
Character numbers: while most are solo shooters, there are games that allow the player to control multiple characters. Games where another character fights alongside the player, but cannot be controlled, aren't grouped here.
Multiplayer games: If a shooter is played online, there are a few divisions where it could end up. Team games are where players are on opposing factions striving for the same goal, co-op games have several players on one team, and individual games are a free-for-all.
Focus-based: This is more of a way to distinguish a shooter; some games rely on stealth rather than action, and others are almost like horror movies. The one thing that all shooters have in common is that armed combat with long-range weapons is the focus of the game.
Shoot 'em up: a subgenre where the player has almost no control over their movement. Backgrounds are side-scrolling and fire is in one direction. Games such as Galaxian, Space Invaders, Metal Slug, and Contra all fit into this category.
